Unfortunately we had to miss London Fashion Week this time around. The wonder of the modern internet is that even though we couldn’t be there in person, we were able to watch so much of it online particularly from Estethica, the part of London Fashion Week that is dedicated to sustainable fashion. Each season, the Fash/On Film panel curate a dedicated film programme to be screened in the Canon Cinema each day of London Fashion Week. The films are screened between live streams of catwalk shows. On Saturday a series of films were shown for Estethica which included ‘The Fashion Duel’ Let’s Clean Up Fashion by Greenpeace Italy.
We love the Liora Lasalle collection for Yoox which uses recycled jeans. In fact we have already blogged about it a few times but if you would like to find out a bit more, check out these fantastic videos. The second video shows Liora Lasalle’s collection which was made reclaiming high-end textile waste such as vintage lace and fine jerseys and upcycling old high-vis jackets from Veolia Environmental Services employees. It was presented at Estethica month and was developed in collaboration with British Fashion Council’s Estethica, Veolia and Central Saint Martins.
Beautiful Soul are another favourite of ours. We love their elegant dresses featuring bold and beautiful prints. The collections are made from a variety of luxurious British made and sustainable fabrics.
In this video for Ada Zanditon Singer/songwriter, fashion muse and rising star Viktoria Modesta models Ada Zanditon’s AW13 collection on the streets of London.
We have also been checking out some of the amazing streetstyle at London Fashion Week. It is amazing to see so many people rocking their own unique style and definitely one of the things we love about London fashion is the fun and quirky outfits. You can check out some on Stylist and for a round up of eccentric London style Yahoo.
