Fashion and Food For Fairtrade Fortnight

Today Fairtrade fortnight kicks off. An annual event to promote Fairtrade products which provide a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries. There are now more than 4500 Fairtrade products including fashion made from Fairtrade cotton to bananas, chocolate, coffee, pineapples, peanuts and even silver and gold.

For a product to display the Fairtrade Mark it must meet international Fairtrade Standards, set by The Fairtrade labelling Organisations International (FLO), for environmental, labour, and development factors.

By buying Fairtrade, you can be confident that a fair price has been paid for the goods, and a premium beyond this which allows the producers to cover the cost of production and plough money back into their communities in the form of social, economic, or environmental projects. Here are some great Fashion and food that you can treat yourself with this Fairtrade Fortnight. We would also recommend checking out Ethical Superstore for a great selection of products including Fairtrade fashion with 20% off Fairtrade labelled products.
